RESPONSIBILITIES.
Reports to the Program Directors for Information Technology and for Educational and Consulting Services. Responsible for providing education, consulting, support to member libraries about the application of current and emerging information technology in all areas of library service. Serve as a consultant to libraries for technology planning and implementation. Encourage and facilitate the use of technology in libraries by delivering visionary and practical solutions, including Web 2.0 and Second Life. Under the direction of the Program Director for Information Technology, manage somes aspects of the internal technology infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS.
Required: Master's degree in an appropriate discipline. General knowledge and familiarity with Web 2.0 applications, Windows Server, Internet applications, HTML, and their applications in libraries. Current knowledge of library practices and emerging technologies within the scope of this position. Team player who excels in a collaborative and evolving environment. Strong client service orientation. Willing to engage in significant travel within the region.
Preferred: ALA accredited MLS. Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as Second Life. Three-to-five year’s professional experience. Working knowledge of PHP, open source software, Windows domain authentication, MS Office software, UNIX, Flash, video and audio technologies, Creating podcasts and Windows utilities. Knowledge of integrated library systems. Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines. Outstanding oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Knowledge of OCLC and other information services, relevant technologies, and terminology. Exceptional relationship-building skills. Formal instructional experience, including using e-learning technologies. Consulting experience. High energy, self-directed and flexible. Strong analytical and organizational abilities. Possess a record of professional achievement.

NELINET is a non-profit consortium of over 600 libraries located throughout New England that is dedicated to working closely with member libraries to create a vibrant future within a constantly-changing environment. NELINET involves members through our services in education, consulting, group purchasing, and information awareness. Competitive and commensurate with experience. NELINET offers a comprehensive
