Description: OCLC Connexion makes it easy to integrate authority control into your OCLC cataloging workflow. Learn to read and understand MARC authority records, use Connexion “control headings” to streamline your cataloging workflow, and search and export authority records.
You will learn about:
  • Principles of authority control
  • Authority control workflow options
  • Contents of the OCLC Authority File
  • Searching the OCLC Authority File
  • Controlling headings and exporting authority records using OCLC Connexion Client or Browser interfaces
  • MARC21 Format for Authorities Data
Time: Five hours
Location: This full day "Customized Training" session can be brought to your library at any time.
Who should attend: Catalogers and other library staff involved in authority control.
