| Description: |
The migration to the Connexion Client offers cataloging managers
an opportunity to rethink cataloging workflow and take advantage
of functionality that they did not have previously, were not
aware of, or did not make full use of. This hands-on class will
emphasize OCLC cataloging workflow options, Connexion Client
techniques that can save staff time, and offline supplementary
OCLC cataloging services that can be used to streamline cataloging
workflow.
Passport users in particular can learn about the benefits
of using local files and offline editing, as well as batch searching,
and all catalogers can learn to work more efficiently by using
the various Connexion Client functionalities that automate repetitive
tasks. |

- Understand available cataloging workflow options using Connexion
Client
- Be familiar with the effective use of the offline functionality
of the Client
- Be able to maximize the effective use of batch searching and
batch processing
- Be able to use constant data, macros, and text strings effectively
to increase efficiency
- Be able to use keyboard shortcuts and toolbar icons to increase
efficiency
- Learn from the experiences of other attendees
