| Description: |
Statistical reports are essential for analyzing how
effectively electronic resources are being used. In this course,
initially produced for a European consortium, you will have a hands-on
opportunity to learn statistical techniques to manipulate electronic
resource statistical data. |
| You will learn about: |
- An overview of general statistical concepts
- Statistical terminology and reporting elements, including
standard definitions and how definitions may vary from publisher
to publisher
- Applicability of statistical reports to the different types
of electronic resources (e.g., aggregator databases, e-journals,
e-books)
- Interpreting statistical reports and use of spreadsheets to
manipulate data to generate meaningful comparative studies
- International standards for electronic information statistics,
and publisher and aggregators compliance with those standards
