Description: If you are ready to contribute original monographic records to OCLC, you're ready for this course. Through exercises emphasizing the MARC tagging of current cataloging, examples and discussion, this course provides an in-depth study of how to assign OCLC MARC format tags to books.
You will learn about:
  • Inputting a new record
  • Avoiding duplicate records
  • In-depth examination of most commonly used tags for books
Time: Five hours
Location: This full day "Customized Training" session can be brought to your library at any time.
Who should attend: Library staff beginning to input original records into WorldCat, OCLC's Union Catalog, or interested in a comprehensive review of MARC tagging for books.
Prerequisite: Knowledge of AACR2 is required.
Cost: $995.00 per customized training event, plus expenses
