Connexion
Connexion is OCLC's new, next-generation cataloging system.

Connexion offers new functionality, including two easy-to-use interfaces for WorldCat searching and editing, controlling headings (automated heading verification), enhanced online save file, constant data file searching and management, larger record size, support for Dublin Core, and the ability to harvest metadata for cataloging Web resources.

For more information, visit the Connexion Web page.
Connexion Browser Interface: The Web-based, easy-to-use interface to the Connexion cataloging system provides full OCLC online cataloging functionality. Offers support for harvesting metadata to catalog Web resources. Provides access to WebDewey and Abridged WebDewey and to OCLC PICA database.

No additional software required, only a Web browser is needed.

To log on to Connexion with the Connexion Browser, go to: http://connexion.oclc.org

For more information, visit the OCLC Connexion Browser Web page
Connexion Client Interface: The flexible and powerful Windows-based software interface to the Connexion cataloging system provides full OCLC online cataloging functionality, which includes menus, icons, and customizable keystrokes available for every command. Macros allow the cataloger to combine commands and execute them all with a single keystroke, and batch processing, offline editing, and local files allow the cataloger an opportunity to work more efficiently.

For more information and to download the Client software, visit the OCLC Connexion Client Web page. A valid OCLC authorization number is required to download the client.
Interface Comparison: See the OCLC Connexion Interface Chart to compare the functionality of the two interfaces.
Pricing: All OCLC Cataloging activity is on a subscription basis. There is no more transaction based or fixed-fee pricing.

Access (use of OCLC system) charges are also on a subscription basis, allowing for unlimited time online and unlimited users. This is a second, separate subscription!
Training: NELINET offers courses in both the Browser and Client.

For more information about class schedules, check the NELINET Course Calendar.
