Custom Cataloging provides
contract cataloging and retrospective conversion, providing both human
and automated assistance to libraries with limited staff resources.
OCLC Contract Cataloging staff supplement internal library cataloging
resources to accomplish cataloging projects where the library lacks
either staff or specialized expertise. Custom Cataloging staff can
help with hard-to-catalog titles, subjects or languages, providing
catalog records which the library is not able to create by itself.
OCLC Custom Cataloging staff also perform retrospective conversion
projects, using the extensive scope of the WorldCat database to provide
high-quality local records to the library. OCLC Custom Cataloging
also enhances resource sharing and interlibrary loan by adding library
holdings for converted titles to OCLC WorldCat.
