| OCLC-MARC Subscription
Service |
An alternative to record
export, the OCLC-MARC Subscription Service delivers the library's
online cataloging records, on a regular basis, as a batch. This service
can be used by an individual institution, and is also ideal for groups
of libraries sharing a local library system. For groups, individual
libraries edit records and attach holdings, and OCLC packages the
records from all libraries in the group and delivers them as a batch.
The records can then be loaded into the shared online system. Records
are delivered on a regular, frequent schedule, so the local online
system can be updated with new bibliographic records and holdings
in a timely way.

Records Web Page and the Cataloging
Service User Guide, section 8.1. |
